Helen was born October 21, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. The eldest daughter of Howard West and LaWanda Kirkpatrick and granddaughter of Oren and Nora West and Hattie and Ulesses Kirkpatrick.
On May 9, 1959 Helen married Joe Robert Stubblefield and they were married for 37 years. They had four children; Patricia, Joe Robert Jr.(deceased), Robert and Stacey, Helen worked at home raising her children; she always had a big garden and canned vegetables for her family and worked hard on the farm helping with livestock, putting up hay and many other farm chores.

Helen has always been the spiritual leader of her family. She taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to love the Lord. She often said her greatest hope was for all her family to know Jesus.
Helen went to work outside of the home when Robbie and Stacey were older She worked for VF Jeans Wear and Blair Cedar, She worked for the Missouri Mule Magazine and her last job up until she became too sick to work for Regis as an inventory auditor. Helen’s outgoing and caring personality carried through to her job and she considered friends she worked with as extended family.
