  • 2012 saw Osage Beach Fire busier than ever

  • The Osage Beach Fire Protection District saw an increase in calls for service of six percent in 2012. In 2012, the District responded to 1,738 calls for service, compared to 1,635 in 2011. The district stated this was the highest call volume in the district's history.

    EMS makes up the largest numbers of calls. In 2012, 1,012 calls were made regarding EMS. 1,090 calls in 2011, 1042 calls in 2010 and 848 calls for EMS in 2009. EMS calls decreased between 2011 and 2012.
    Out of the days of the week, Saturday was the day with the busiest call volume. In 2012, 16.45 percent of calls to the district were made on Saturday.
    The District's overall response time in 2012 was 7 minutes, 50 seconds. Response time in 2011 was 6 minutes, 15 seconds. As stated in the report, the average response time for calls within the district did not take into account calls outside of the district. The District's Station 3 and Station 4 saw the largest calls over the past year, areas furthest from the manned stations.
    In regards to the Osage Beach Fire Protection District Fire Prevention Bureau/Code Enforcement Division, 275 permits were issued in 2012, four more than permits issued in 2011. In total, permit fees estimated $32,544.77.
    644 inspections for the 2012 year were issued regarding commercial residences. 1,262 inspections were issued for new and remodeled residences, and 245 inspections were issued for docks. In total, 2,151 inspections were issued in 2012.
