What it is
The third phase of construction for the Gravois Arm Sewer District extends wastewater treatment service to areas around Millstone Condominiums, Towering Oak Road, Serenity Cove, Red Hollow Rd. and Lake Rd. 5-18. In addition to residences, South Elementary School and Coconuts Bar & Grill are online. The service for the Village of Gravois Mills has transferred to the new plant off Route P. The approximately $8.14 third phase adds around 880 users, compared to the almost 400 before.
All three contracts of phase three are substantially complete, according to Chair Dave Taylor. As the district and its contractors wrap things up, customers are encouraged to contact GASD with issues that need to be addressed. Problem areas will be assessed and the appropriate action will be taken, says Taylor. The GASD board of trustees is working to spend all available monies are spent to get as many new customers online as possible.
There are four homeowners associations petitioning the board for service, according to Taylor. The board welcomes areas and associations that request service, he says. With the main infrastructure now in the ground, Taylor says future projects will start to be planned in the near future. To get more information on the sewer district, the public is welcome to attend the board meetings held the first Monday of every month at the sewer plant. There is currently a position open on the board. Interested parties should contact Karen Thornton at 573-374-4025.
