Eddie Emery confirmed last week that he filed to run as a write in candidate for the Camden County Commission seat for District Two. Emery kept his lips sealed on the details until he released a press release on Tuesday morning.
Here is the text of the release sent to the media:
Concerned about a lack of choice in the race for 2nd District Commissioner in Camden County, several concerned citizens have asked Eddie Emery to file for the office as a write-in candidate. Despite the difficulties, he accepted the offer, stating, “I’ve proven my commitment to public service and want to take it to the next level by serving as 2nd District representative to the County Commission.”
Emery, a Camdenton resident, has had nine years of experience with Camden County Road and Bridge. He has been in law enforcement for seven years, and has been an EMT, also for seven years. He has been a fire fighter for 28 years and is a state certified fire inspector. Emery wants to use that experience to serve on the Camden County Commission to ensure Camden County continues to be a great place to work, live and raise a family.
Emery’s experience with Camden County Road and Bridge has given him first-hand knowledge concerning the problems with the county road system. His experience in law enforcement has helped him understand the safety concerns of Camden County citizens. His many years as a fire fighter and his specialized training as a state certified fire inspector have given him a unique perspective on the building requirements necessary for proper planning and zoning.
Eddie Emery has resided in Camden County for 28 years. He has been married to his wife, Heather, for 18 years, and is the father of three children, Amber, Jacob and Candace.
