An award of $2,000 from the Community Foundation of the Lake has been matched dollar-for-dollar by Lynn and Peg Griswold of Medical Transportation Management, St. Louis, Mo., with the promise of matching any additional donated funds from the community up to $10,000.  Community Foundation President Trenny Garrett encourages the community to support Woman 2 Woman’s, “Women on the Move” program by utilizing this opportunity.

The “Women on the Move” program, a van transportation service provided by Woman 2 Woman in 2010 and 2011, was discontinued in 2012 due to a lack of funding.  Kim Spangler, Founder and CEO, reports that clients from the following agencies were transported in addition to W2W clients:  CADV (Citizens Against Domestic Violence), Lake Area Helping Hands, Haven of Hope Maternity Home and Crisis Pregnancy Center.  Clients were taken to school, work, job skills classes, interviews and clinical appointments.  Each year of operation saw over 100 new riders due to a lack of transportation in the tri-county lake area.

Lynn and Peg Griswold, co-founders and current board members of MTM and the Community Foundation of the Lake, responded to the need for transportation at the Lake with the same vision and commitment it took to build MTM into the industry leader in providing coordinated transportation solutions throughout the nation.  The Griswolds helped start the Community Foundation of the Lake for opportunities such as this to collaborate with local non-profits and together help people solve problems that can better the Lake community.  “We help people turn their gift into solutions, and it isn’t just the dollars that matter – it’s bringing people together that matters to me,” Lynn said when asked about the grant and the CFL.
