Worked as an airline captain


Michael “Mike” McDermott, age 73, of Camdenton, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.  He was born May 20, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Edwin and Helen Schumann McDermott.

 On August 20, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Judi Christopher, who survives the home.

 Mike was a retired Airline Captain for TWA and was a United States Army veteran.
 He was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie.

 In addition to his wife, Judi, he is survived by his sons, Tim McDermott and wife Beth of Bettendorf, Iowa and Glenn McDermott and wife Karen of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ryan McDermott, Kyle McDermott, Audrey McDermott and Ava McDermott; and many other relatives and friends.

 A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 26, at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie with Father Patrick Dolan serving as celebrant.  Graveside services and inurnment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Laurie.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warriors.  Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
