Its mission of a repeat district championship fell short, but the Camdenton High School girls' soccer team added another strong season to the record books in 2012.

Camdenton finished 17-8-1 overall and won two regular season tournaments. The Lady Lakers were 6-3 in conference play and had two players score over 20 goals.

Those two players, sophomore Whitney Snow and junior Miriam Taylor, were named all-district co-offensive players of the year.

Highlights
Camdenton won the Moberly Tournament and the Lady Laker Invitational. After a 2-4 start, the Lady Lakers went undefeated in their next nine games. CHS beat Waynesville 3-2 on April 10 in a thrilling home match. Nine days later, Camdenton won at Rolla for the first time in program history.

What they lose
Cassie Hale, Allison Halderman, Cassie Dorman, Danielle Brooks and Annie Rice all graduate. Hale and Halderman were four-year starters. Halderman has the most consecutive starts (99) by any CHS girls player. Hale's the first Lady Laker to be named all-district at two positions (midfielder, goalkeeper).

What they bring back
A lot. The team's top seven goal scorers are eligible to return. Snow and Taylor will be a tough duo to handle, and Morgan Henry drives the offense with her passing and top-notch vision. Henry's 18 assists tied Meg Agnew's single-season record set in 2002.

Outlook
If everyone comes back, CHS will be loaded in 2013. Camdenton will have to replace four starters but most of its offense this season came from non-seniors. It'll be a surprise if the Lady Lakers aren't in their district title game for the third straight season.
