Ray Parsley, age 65, of Laurie, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, at his home. He was born December 23, 1946, in Henrietta, Oklahoma, a son of the late Austin John and Nadine Goss Parsley.
On March 13, 1976, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Karren, who preceded him in death on December 10, 2009.
Ray owned and operated Mr. P’s Bar in Riverside, Missouri and later owned and operated Ray Parsley Masonry and Son in Laurie.
He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624 in Sunrise Beach. He was also a member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge 2705 in Laurie and a member of a Masonic Lodge in Kansas City, Missouri.
Ray is survived by his son, Patrick Parsley of Laurie; his daughters, Lauri Sisney of Laurie, Debbie Vane of Los Angeles, California and Belinda Montoya Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brothers, Richard Dean Parsley of Owasso, Oklahoma and Chuck Parsley of Bullhead City, Arizona; his sister, Phyllis Baltzell of Kirbyville, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
