Retired to the Lake of the Ozarks
Dwight E. Louk, age 83, of Laurie, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Laurie Care Center. He was born July 30, 1928, in Dana, Iowa, a son of Earl and Mabel Louk.
On May 15, 1948, Dwight was united in marriage to his wife, Madonna. The couple recently celebrated their 64th anniversary on May 15, 2012.
Dwight retired from the Greene County R E C after 43 years. In addition, he was also an electrician, as well as owner of a tree removal service for a number of years in Jefferson, Iowa.
Upon his retirement, Dwight retired to a home on the Lake of the Ozarks, where he served on the Gravois Fire Protection District for 17 years.
In addition to his wife, Madonna, Dwight is survived by his daughter, Connie Louk of Columbia, Missouri; his son, Steven Louk and wife, Becky of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne, Chet, Jim, Bud, Tobe and Billy, and his sister, Margaret.
There are no memorial services planned at this time. A private family inurnment will occur at a later date in Jefferson, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Gravois Mills Fire Protection District, in honor of Dwight’s 17 years of service.
