People from around the west side of the lake area picked up trash from roadsides this spring during the annual cleanup sponsored by the Lake West Chamber of Commerce.
Collections were down from 2011, according to cleanup officials, perhaps because there is less litter being tossed out along area roads.
Two large dumpsters at Laurie Bank, where the electronics, scrap metal and tires were collected, were filled to the brim, but the three others at different locations were down from the year before.
The Chamber thanks all the businesses, organizations and municipalities that donated to cover the cost of the dumpsters and electronic pickup as well as the volunteers who manned the collection sites.
