A special dinner honoring female veterans in the area was held May 6 by the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 624 in Sunrise Beach. The women were treated with great food and gifts from the Auxiliary.


A special dinner honoring female veterans in the area was held May 6 by the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 624 in Sunrise Beach. The women were treated with great food and gifts from the Auxiliary.
The celebration also included the Post, Honor Guard, Legion Riders, Sons of the American Legion and the 40&8 Voiture.
Legion Department Auxiliary President Claudia Goodin, female veteran and Commander Kimberly Tatham of the Disabled American Veterans, Vice President of Missing in America Veterans Recovery Program Linda Smith, Auxiliary 624 President Sharon Hamilton and Post 624 Commander Jim Morton were among the attendees present to honor the female veterans.
Overall, more than 100 people attended the dinner.
The female veterans came from as far as St. Louis and Kansas City.
