Offering food, raffles, vendors and family activities, including kid games, softball, karaoke and a bounce house, the event is a fundraiser for the local Scarlett Heart Foundation.
About the foundation
This organization was established locally to assist families of first responders and emergency volunteers with financial support focused primarily on medical and specialty needs of their children. The foundation is named for Scarlett Goetz, daughter of Todd Goetz, a lake area police officer, and his wife Sarah, a Morgan County 9-1-1 communications officer. Scarlett was born in June 2010 with multiple heart defects. The Coldwell family is also involved in the foundation. In 2011, the Midyett family of Versailles whose daughter Sterling has Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome was among the first beneficiaries of the foundation. The fundraising goal for 2012 is $50,000; $12,085.90 has been raised so far. For more information, visit www.scarlettheart.org. Or find them on Facebook.
