Morgan County prosecutor Dustin Dunklee, who is a captain in the Missouri National guard and a JAG legal adviser for the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade, headed to Fort Leonard Wood near Waynesville on Monday, where he will be stationed for 30 days. Then it’s on to Fort Hood in Texas for 45 days. In addition, Dunklee will receive special training at the Pentagon. He will be deployed to the Middle East for nine months. Also being deployed with his unit are Billy Arment and Rebecca Francis.
“They are both a great asset for the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade,” said Dunklee, whose prosecutor duties in his absence will be handled by Doug Kinde, assistant prosecutor. “I’ve had nothing but positive support from the public. So much so that I can honestly say I’m very appreciative, but don’t feel deserving of all the support. There's been thousands before me make this type of sacrifice and my deployment will be relatively safe.”
