The elderly St. James man injured in Saturday’s accident at Key Largo Road and the Expressway has died.
Robert L. Bullock, 78, of St. James, died Saturday from injuries sustained in the two-vehicle accident.
He was exiting Osage Beach Parkway and attempting to turn left onto the westbound lanes of Expressway when he drove into the path of a Ford Escape driven by 17-year-old Scott J. Derr of Springfield. Derr was traveling eastbound on the Expressway when he struck the pickup truck.
Derr was treated and released.
MoDOT officials are in the process of examining the now-deadly intersection. Access to the Expressway via Key Largo has been temporarily halted. MoDOT hosted a public meeting last week to offer three options to fix the intersection, ironically just three days before the first fatal accident there.
Osage Beach will hold a public forum from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the city hall, during which time MoDOT will be available to answer questions. The forum also is being held to discuss ideas for improved signage along the Expressway and other locations to direct traffic to Osage Beach Parkway.
