Climax Springs boys to play Macks Creek in district semifinals.

Cougars 57, Niangua 47
The Climax Springs High School boys' basketball team held off Niangua in the quarterfinals of the Class 1, District 6 tournament at Bolivar High School.

The Cougars have won 13 consecutive games. They'll play Macks Creek in Thursday night's semifinals.

The matchup will be the third meeting between Climax Springs and Macks Creek this season. The Cougars won the two previous matchups: 57-46 at home on Dec. 29 and 63-32 at Macks Creek on Jan. 17.

Pirates 48, Hermitage 42
The Macks Creek boys sprung an upset on third-seeded Hermitage. The Pirates improved to 8-17 overall with the win.

Macks Creek, once 3-13 overall, has gone 5-4 in its last nine games.

Tigers 75, Cole Camp 56
The VHS boys' basketball team proved its late-season victory over Cole Camp was no fluke, hammering the third-seeded Bluebirds in the opening round of the Class 3, District 10 tournament.

Versailles beat Cole Camp 86-69 at home in the final week of the regular season.

The Tigers advance to play California in Thursday night's semifinals. Versailles lost 55-42 at California in the regular season.

Following a stretch where it lost 11 of 12 games, Versailles has gone 4-1 in its last five.

Due to a gastroenteritis (stomach flu) outbreak in the Morgan County R-II School District, girls' semifinal games Wednesday night and boys' semifinal games Thursday night have been moved to Cole Camp High School.

Saturday's district title games are scheduled to be held at Versailles High School.
