A one-vehicle accident near Macks Creek left the driver and a passenger with moderate injuries, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported on Saturday on Route W, just north of Jack Burch Road around 9:40 pm.
The driver of the vehicle, Jay Y. Luczac, 43, of Macks Creek, received moderate injuries after he ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, became airborne and landed back on the roadway. The vehhicle then veered off the left side of the road, struck a tree and a fence.

Luczac, along with the passenger in the vehcile, Mikel L. Hodges, 24, of Salinas, KS, were taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

The 1985 Ford truck Luczak was driving was listed as a total loss, according to the report.
Luczak was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
