It’s time again for the lake area scouts from the Boy Scouts of America to collect food for their annual Scouting For Food Campaign.  Units from around the lake area will be hanging door hangers starting next week.  This encourages residents to place canned goods and non-perishable food items out for collection.  Collection day is Saturday, March 3, 2012 starting at 9:00 a.m.  Scouts will return to the neighborhoods and collect the food.  All of the food items collected will stay in the lake area.  Food pantries in Eldon, Camdenton, Greenview, Versailles, Stover and others will receive collected items. There will be other collection events, such as drive by donations and boxes at local grocery stores.  For more information or to donate, contact Wess Diehl (573-745-1551), Kinderhook District Scouting for Food Coordinator or Bob White (573-216-0005). Kinderhook District Scout Executive.
