The Lake of the Ozarks Tri-County Lodging Association Board of Directors and Lake of the Ozarks Area Business Districts of Camden, Miller and Morgan Counties will hold their monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at The Resort at Port Arrowhead in Lake Ozark.

Agenda items will include:

Funding Requests

•Annual Luova Designs Fashion Expo-Saturday, June 30, expecting 2,000 overnight rooms, and 5,000 in attendance, requesting $10,000 for online media, television and radio throughout the state of Missouri. 

•AquaPalooza 2012, Saturday, July 21, expected attendance 10,000, requesting $2,000 for local radio and print, regional television, banners, press releases and banners.  May increase market reach to St. Louis and Kansas City.

•St. Patrick’s Day Water Parade, Saturday, March 17, starting and ending at Ozark Bar-B-Que, estimating 100-200 participants and 100 room nights.  Requesting $800 — $500 for direct mail campaign and $300 for radio spots in Jefferson City, Columbia and surrounding area. 

•Civil War Re-Enactment-Battle of Monday Hollow, every third year, Sept. 14-16, at Missouri Trapshooters Association on State Road A, estimating 9,000-plus attendees and re-enactors, expecting 1,800-plus room nights and 25-50 accommodation facilities utilized.  Requesting $7,810 for out of area advertising and for event insurance.     

 

Legislative Report

Don Welch, chairman, will provide an update on proposed noise legislation.

Jim Divincen, executive director, will give an update on repealing Section 306.127 of Missouri House Bill 1646 regarding out of state residents renting watercraft.

The boards also will consider a letter from the Lake area Chamber of Commerce regarding the Lake of the Ozarks Welcome Sign.

The meeting is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
