  • An Osage Beach man accused of stabbing his roommate to death in an Osage Beach apartment in 2010 will not stand trial in February as originally scheduled. Gregory L. George, 25, awaits word on when and where he will be tried for first degree murder in the death of Adrianna Hyten.
At a pre-trial conference in Camdenton on Monday, State Public Defender Heather Vodnansky followed up on a motion for a change of venue that she made on Jan. 5. Vodnansky and Camden County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Keedy approached Judge Kenneth Hayden's bench, where the three held an off-record conversation for approximately 10 minutes.
According to Keedy, Judge Hayden agreed to bring in an outside jury from Cass County for George's murder trial. Hayden set a status hearing in George's case for March 12, at which point the judge and attorneys will determine a date, time and location for a jury trial.
George, who is incarcerated in the Camden County jail with no chance for bond, did not attend the pretrial conference.
Firefighters and EMTs found Hyten stabbed to death on the floor of an apartment on Mace Road in Osage Beach on Oct. 10, 2010. Detectives interviewed George, whom she shared the apartment with, on the same day. The Osage Beach Police Department arrested George after the interview for violation the probation conditions from a prior conviction. George was charged with Hyten's murder on April 6, 2011.
