Enjoyed flying and the outdoors

Carl W. “Bill” Snyder, age 64, of Camdenton, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare.  He was born April 9, 1947, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of the late Carl E. and Alma Fisher Snyder.

Bill completed two tours in Vietnam serving his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He worked as a graphic artist for many years. In addition, Bill maintained his scuba license and assisted many lake businesses with underwater tasks.

Bill loved woodworking and the outdoors. He could be found riding motorcycles or horses, or spending quality time with his two cats.  He also had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.

He is survived by his sister, Darlene Baechler of Sunrise Beach; and two nieces and several great-nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Al Snyder.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Father Patrick Dolan officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie.
