One woman died and another remains hospitalized from a head-on car crash on Christmas Day in western Camden County.

Donna K. Miller, 59, of Camdenton died Sunday afternoon at the scene of a head-on collision on Highway 7, half a mile west of Granger Lane, better known as the turnoff for Fiery Ford Conservation Area between Barnumton and Climax Springs.

Miller's passenger, 41-year-old Tonya D. Kelley, of Osage Beach is hospitalized at University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol Troop F, Miller was driving southbound on State Highway 7 in a 2007 Ford Focus with Kelley as her passenger. At approximately 1:20 p.m., the vehicle crossed the center line and struck an oncoming northbound vehicle head-on.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle, Warren K. West, 53, of Roach, was wearing a seatbelt and was moderately hurt. St. John's Ambulance took West to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. Staff for Life Helicopter flew Kelley to University Hospital. Dr. James Jungels, Camden County Coroner, pronounced Miller dead at the accident scene 3:15 p.m. The Highway Patrol report states that Miller was not wearing a seatbelt. Kelley and West were wearing seatbelts.
