Two lake-area women were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in Morgan County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1992 Oldsmobile, driven by Stacy A. Markes, 42, of Cole Camp, crossed the center line on Route 52 .1 miles north of Highway 135 and struck a 2010 Lincoln, driven by Viva A. Stokes, 76, of Versailles, head-on.

Stokes was taken to Capital Region Hospital by ambulance, and Markes was flown via helicopter to University Hospital.

Highway Patrol reports indicate both women were wearing seat belts.
