Seven lake-area organizations are beneficiaries of the Community Foundation of the Lake.

They were awarded grants Wednesday night as part of the Lake Area Chamber’s monthly social at Edgewater Estates in Lake Ozark.

The Community Foundation of the Lake was established in 2008 by community leaders to help in building the educational, cultural, health and economic development of the lake area. The foundation is affiliated with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks which assists more than 40 communities in fund development and administration of the funds at a minimal cost so the financial resources remain in each community.

The Foundation is a growing resource to receive and grant local community funds donated by families, individuals and corporations. Donations can be in any amount, unrestricted to benefit any community need or restricted by donor designation and used for a specific program or purpose as the donor identifies. All Foundation funds stay in the lake area where they benefit many organizations meeting a broad range of local community needs.

The Foundation offers several options for making a gift or establishing a donor-directed fund. Groups, individuals and businesses can participate by contacting Trenny Garrett, president, at 348-9990, or by mailing a contribution to Community Foundation of the Lake, PO Box 1413, Lake Ozark, MO  65049.
