The dining room at Kent Memorial Church holds 200 persons and tickets are expected to sell out for the Outback Steakhouse Dinner and auction slated from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 3. New this year, Rotarians will sell their talents to benefit the Westlake Aquatic Center, located in Laurie. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is providing matching funds for the cause.
“It’s going to be great,” Westlake Aquatic Center Chairwoman Pat Garret said. "We’re auctioning juggling lessons, crappie fishing instruction, Santa appearances, and I am donating a homemade pie a month.”
A one-year scholarship to attend the Lake West Christian Academy will be awarded and everything from fishing guide services to gourmet meals prepared by Osage River Bar and Grill will round out the many services and items up for bid.
The highlight, as always, is the food. Outback Steakhouse will serve steak or chicken, Caesar salad, potatoes and cheesecake with raspberry glaze.
Tickets are available for $20 at the Westlake Aquatic Center and from any Rotarian of the Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapter. Kent Memorial Church is located on Highway 5 in Sunrise Beach.
