TCLA has authorized sponsorship and funding of several new special events and festivals at the Lake of the Ozarks. Sponsorship funds for the "Hell of Halloween Mountain Bike Race" to be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, were awarded to the event organizer Trevor Dowdney to assist with the initial start up costs for this first time special event.
Sponsorship funding was also provided for the promotion of two new youth sporting events.  The Licking Summer Volleyball Camps will be held at the Lake of the Ozarks on Thursday, July 28 and 29, 2011. Regional high school volleyball teams will participate in these camps held at the Osage High School. The camp is expected to generate more than 1,000 overnight rooms for area lodging facilities.
Sponsorship funding was also provided for the "Just Play Hard Shootout," a regional boys basketball camp also being held at the School of the Osage. This camp is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, June 23 and June 24, 2011, with anticipated attendance of 40 teams with 10 or more players per team. The Advisory Board is thrilled to support the promotion for these family-oriented special events, and looks forward to hosting these camps at the Lake of the Ozarks in the future.
