Cheers to the city of Osage Beach for rehiring a 25-plus year veteran of the police departmen, to Lake Media's Top 10 women for their celebrity sacker event at Hy-Vee and the Missouri DNR for looking for ways to examine E. coli at the public beaches.

Jeers to Sunrise Beach Police Department for not having a committee in place before now to investigate any complaints lodged against officers and anyone who didn't take advantage of the sunny weather Tuesday.

Cheers to the city of Osage Beach for rehiring a 25-plus year veteran of the police department after an extended medical leave due to an injury. It speaks well of city officials. Cheers to Lake Media's Top 10 Women for their celebrity sacker event at Hy-Vee. Their efforts raised more than $800 for Citizens Against Domestic Violence. Cheers to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for finding additional ways to expand the water quality testing procedure in hopes to find out more about what causes spikes E. coli levels at the public beaches.

Jeers to the Sunrise Beach Police Department for not having a committee in place before now to investigate any complaints lodged against officers. Even small police departments should have an oversight committee. Jeers to anyone who didn't get outside Tuesday afternoon to enjoy the first sunshine in days. Although there was still a bit of chill and dampness in the air, it was a welcome change form the cloudy skies and downpours of recent days.
