Retired truck driver; Father of three and grandfather

James “Jim” F. Mitchell, 66, of Gravois Mills, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his home. He was born May 1, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of the late Ray and Judith Larson Mitchell.
On Jan. 27, 1962, in Carroll, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Terri Schirck, who survives of the home.
Jim was an over-the-road truck driver for several years, retiring from Sinclair Petroleum.
In addition to his wife, Terri, he is survived by his sons, Rex Mitchell and wife Gayle of Des Moines, Iowa, and Chad Mitchell and wife Monica of Ft. Calhoun, Neb.; his daughter, Schantelle “Shelly” Mitchell of Murray, Neb.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and his sister, Carol Rodman of Sioux City, Iowa.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, April 28, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be left online at Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
