Four female teens were seriously injured Friday night in a one-vehicle crash on State Road Y in Morgan County. The driver was cited for driving while intoxicated.


Four female teens were seriously injured Friday night in a one-vehicle crash on State Road Y in Morgan County. The driver was cited for driving while intoxicated.
The four females were all passengers in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt that was being driven by Connor M. Keefe, 18, of Barnett. Keefe was heading southbound on State Road Y about .4 miles south of Coffman Beach Road when he travelled off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch. The vehicle overturned and struck a tree.
Breanna M. Schild, 17, of Eldon, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Schild was flown by Staff For Life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Kerissa L. Wierman, 18, also of Eldon, was also flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. It is unknown if she was wearing a seat belt.
Alexandra N. Hickman, 16, of Osage Beach, was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Health System before being transferred to University Hospital by ambulance for treatment of her serious injuries. Hickman was wearing a seat belt.
The last female victim, Lelah A. Hicks, 18, of Conway, Mo., was taken to Lake Regional Health System by ambulance. She was not wearing a seat belt.
A fifth passenger in the vehicle, Justin L. Carpenter, 23, of Gravois Mills, sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Lake Regional for treatment. Carpenter was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, Keefe, was not injured and was reported as wearing a seat belt. He was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and minor visibly intoxicated.
The accident occurred at 10:55 p.m. Friday. There were six people in the vehicle when it crashed.
