Mother and grandmother who had a wealth of friends; will be dearly missed
Bonnie E. Lakey, 74, passed away April 19, 2011, in Warsaw, Mo. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Climax Springs, Mo. A graveside memorial service honoring the life of our mother, grandma, sister and friend will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Steele Cemetery, Hartville, Mo.
Bonnie was born on July 11, 1936, in Hartville, Mo., to Elmer and Mildred Cannon. She spent her early years in Hartville, raising five children and forging lasting friendships along the way. She moved to Climax Springs, Mo., in 1978 and resided there until moving to Warsaw, Mo., in 2010.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Mildred and Elmer Cannon, and her sister, Wanda Cannon. Surviving her are her sister, Shirley, and husband, Jerry Pridemore, and her brother, Richard "Dickie," and his wife, Goldie Cannon. She leaves her five children and their spouses: Marsha (Keith) Sanford, Melody (Billy) Folsom, Abe (Becky) Lakey, Lillie (Robbie) Ash, Donna (John) Walter, and her eight grandchildren, Ashley, Jake and Shane Sanford, Brooklynn and Clint Lakey, Evan, Aidan and Jamison Walter.
Bonnie accumulated a wealth of friends and family during her 74 years and has left lasting memories of her love for her children, grandchildren and those that were close to her. She had an extremely competitive side that was ever so visible during weekend card games with her brother Dickie and his family. She cherished family time and has blessed us with those very memories of her gentle smile and deep laughter.
