The Climax Springs High School boys' basketball team opened its district tournament with a blowout win on Monday night. In the same tournament, Macks Creek lost in OT to Hermitage.

Senior guard?Dillion Danforth scored a game-high 26 as Climax?Springs beat Halfway 74-38 in the opening game of the Class 1, District 6 tournament at Bolivar?High School on?Monday.

Junior guard Michael Buerge added 14 points for Climax?Springs, which improved to 24-1 overall with the win.

Climax Springs advances to play Hermitage at  6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hermitage 59, Macks Creek 53 (OT)
The No. 4 seed Pirates loss to the Hornets in overtime on Monday. The game was tied at 48 after regulation.

Macks Creek finishes the season 10-14 and will graduate seniors Curtis Collins, Dylan Whitworth and Nick Thomas.
