  • Two children were injured in Laurie this morning after slipping on ice and falling under the wheels of a school bus.
According to Laurie Police Chief Shane Edwards, the boy and girl were being dropped off by their mother around 7 a.m. in the Laurie Terrace Mall parking lot for pick up by the Morgan County R-II School District.
It was not their normal bus, which reportedly could not reach their home due to road conditions, Edwards said.
Around 7 this morning, the bus was starting to drive away after making its regular stop, he said, and while running to catch it, the two children slipped on ice and fell. The driver reportedly did not see the kids and accidently drove over them.
Based on the initial on-scene assessment, the boy had broken bones in his leg, and no major injuries were reported for the girl, Edwards said.
No further information is available at this time.
