An 18-year-old from Osage Beach faces three felony charges after a routine traffic stop leads to the seizure of three different illegal drugs.

A police officer spotted Maxwell Rocco Lewis traveling eastbound in a green Ford F-150 pickup near Panera Bread. Lewis was driving 57 mph in a 45 mph zone. The officer made a U-turn and stopped the vehicle near the Osage Beach Wal-Mart.

When the officer approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana. A K-9  unit indicated the presence of drugs, and Lewis consented to a search of the vehicle. The search led to the recovery of over 35 grams of marijuana separated into 10 bags. The police also found cocaine and Oxycontin in the truck.

The Camden County prosecutor requested three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia. Lewis had unfilled pill capsules and electronic scales in the pickup truck. He has not been arraigned at this time.

Lewis also has charges pending in Miller County for drug distribution (marijuana) following a July arrest by the Mid-Missouri Mult-jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
