Senior players for the Camdenton High School soccer teams got one last match on the field Tuesday night in Springfield.

Jessica Smith and Ryan Moriearty and Matt McDermott from the boys' team participated in the 6th annual Southwest All-Star Game at Catholic High School.

Smith's team won 7-1 after leading at the half. In a special show of respect, Camdenton's Latea LaRue was invited as an All-Star despite missing all of the 2010 season with an injury.

The MVP of the girls' game was Lebanon's Emily Boyer, who will play with LaRue at Missouri Southern.

In the boys' game, Moriearty's and McDermott's team, coached by Camdenton coach Jason Ingold, won in a blowout.

Moriearty had a shutout in the first half and switched to forward in the second for some rare time on offense.

Late in the game, a transformer blew out and left one side of the field in darkness. The players decided to keep going and finish out the game.

The game will be shown on Mediacom Channel 22 this week, Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The game was made possible by Springfield Soccer Club and SGFsoccer.com
