Walking to the next hole with Matt Eidson of Lake Ozark, who plays on School of the Osage's varsity team in the spring...

How is your round at Eldon so far?

"I'm on the bogey train pretty much," Eidson said. "Right now, I'll take it for not playing since Dogwood."
Eidson opened the LOJGA season with a round of 83 at Dogwood Hills.

Are you okay with the heat and humidity today?

"It's been worse. Conference was a lot hotter than this," Eidson said in reference to the 2010 Tri-County Conference tournament. Osage took first place at California Country Club.

What do you like about playing in the LOJGA?

"This is just one of those things to have fun," Eidson said.

Notes: Joni Purvis' round of 74 gave her the lowest score of the tournament, including all competitors in the boys' divisions. The Lady Laker made a statement for female players by scoring lower than the entire boys 16-18 field that included all four members of the Class 1 state champion Sacred Heart golf team and a slew of state qualifiers.
Tanner Elder of Jefferson City and Garrett Rice of Buffalo have both won three consecutive LOJGA events in their respective divisions and put their undefeated streaks on the line next Tuesday at The Cove.
Amber Wilson of Linn Creek never strays far from the top of the leader board. Wilson finished first, first, and second in the girls 9-hole division at the LOJGA's first three events of the summer.
