75, Korean War Navy vet was former city administrator of Camdenton   
Donald “Roger” Elder, 75,  of Odessa, Mo. and (formerly of Camdenton, Mo., Clinton, Mo. and Excelsior Springs, Mo.) died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Odessa, Mo..
He was born March 27, 1934 in York, Nebraska, the son of Donald Franklin Elder and Maxine Elizabeth (Rogers) Elder.  On October 13, 1975, he married Kathy Elaine Irons.  She survives at the home. 
In 1996, Roger moved to Odessa to become the City’s Public Works Superintendent.  He saw many upgrades and a new sewer treatment plant come to reality.  He is the former City Administrator of Camdenton, MO, from 1984 thru 1989.
He held the position of Public Works Superintendent in Clinton, MO and at Excelsior Springs, he was the Director of Maintenance and Transportation for the Job Corps.  He also worked for a radio station in York, NE as an announcer.  Roger graduated from York High School in 1942.  Roger is a former Jaycee’s of York, NE and a JC Representative for the Miss America Pageant.
Roger is a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and entered into service on Nov. 10, 1953 and discharged on Nov. 7, 1958.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of the home and five daughters, Leigh Ann Blevins and husband Doug; Janice Frost and husband, Bill; Donna Manley and husband, Korey, all of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; Terri Uptegrove and husband Troy, of Kansas City, Mo.; Julie Norris and husband Ken, of Columbus, IN; one son, Jeff Hill of Norfolk, VA; 1 sister, Pat Jackson and husband Bill of Conway, AR; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were March 26, 2010,  with burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.. Pallbearers were Paul Conway, Delbert Pallette, Hap Phillips, Tony Barker and John Janes.
