82, Army vet later joined Navy and became a Naval educator; was foiunding member of  Camden County Republican Club
Edward Elliot Crawford Sr., died quietly at home in Camdenton, Missouri, on March 23, 2010. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 7, 1927, to Christopher Crawford and Kathryn Hough.
Edward joined the U.S. Army at 17 years, served in Germany, and was an MP at Nuerenburg. Shortly upon his release, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving at many duty stations and on many ships, principally the Charles R. Ware. He retired from the Navy.
Edward had many talents. He worked also as an audio-visual engineer for advertising agencies and recording studios in Chicago; an educator for the Navy through the College of Lake County, Illinois. 
After moving to Missouri in 1979, he worked for KRMS Radio and also sold advertising for a restaurant and entertainment guide.  He was a founding member of the Camden County Republican Club; a member of the Republican Central Committee, the 40 & 8; The American Legion; and the VFW, as well as a past member of Kiwanis Club.
Edward’s mother passed away when he was two years old, so he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Maude and Bert Lane, in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife Lynn, his children, Terri West, Milan, Tennessee; Stephanie Putnam, Elmwood Park, Illinois; Renee Olsen, Gilbert, Arizona; Jill Gartland, Elmwood Park, Illinois; and Edward Crawford, Jr., Crystal Lake, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings through Christopher’s remarriage to Dovie Ann Coombs are David Crawford and Mary Alice Byrne, of Washington state. Ed was predeceased by his parents and his sisters Martha DeBolt and Esther Moore. He was also predeceased by Maude and Bert Lane and their children, Helen, Robert, Jim, John and Lewis.
He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all, for his jokes and stories.  
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.  A visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri at a later date.
