Lake area receives 3-6 inches of snow

Watch for freezing fog at night

EDITOR'S NOTE: E-mail your snowfall amount to newsroom@lakesunonline.com A winter storm brought snow accumulations of generally 2 to 8 inches will localized heavier amounts to the Missouri Ozarks and southeast Kansas Thursday night into Friday night. The highest accumulations occurred across southern Missouri and Southeast Kansas generally south of Highway 60 where most locations received greater than 5 inches.  Lighter amounts fell across Central Missouri where generally 2 to 4 inches of snowfall occurred.

Watch for freezing fog at night

Fog will be possible the next few nights across the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas. With temperatures expected to be well below freezing, any fog will likely freeze to exposed surfaces. As snow begins to melt, water will also tend to refreeze after dark. Slick spots will therefore be possible on area roadways.
