Tonya Neff, 19, was arrested Jan. 28 for thefts that occurred in and just outside Osage Beach.

Tonya L. Neff, 19, was arrested on Jan. 28, 2010, and is being held in the Camden County Jail on two counts of felony stealing and a $12,000 cash bond only as a result of the Osage Beach and Camden County crimes and a Jefferson City warrant for driving while revoked $2,500 bond.

On Nov. 4, 2009, the Osage Beach Police Department was advised of a felony stealing that had occurred at a residence off of Harbor Heights Lane in Osage Beach. Neff, of Eldridge, Mo., was one of two women responsible for cleaning the residence where the crime occurred. Neff was also responsible for the stealing of property from a residence outside of the Osage Beach city limits in Camden County.

Within a few days of the initial report, the Camdenton Police Department assisted in recovering stolen property that had been sold by Neff to a Camdenton pawn shop.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that some of the property belonging to the Osage Beach victim had been sold to a pawn shop in Independence, Mo. The Independence Police Department assisted in recovering the stolen property from a pawn shop in their jurisdiction.

The Osage Beach Police Department says this case is one example of why property owners should make sure they have an up to date list and photos of all valuables, jewelry, guns, farm equipment and implements, audio visual/stereo equipment, fishing equipment, etc.  Note all serial numbers, makes and models. Photos are especially helpful when identifying stolen jewelry.
