No shadow, Punxsutawney Phil; 2 Demonstrated progress where Kids Count;  3 The Lake Ozark Board to instruct Alderman Susan Drummond;  4 More good news on the sales tax front; 5 LASER progress and our own R2D2

Punxsutawney Phil, the world’s most famous groundhog, to not see his shadow next Tuesday. Six more weeks of winter? No thanks, we’ll gladly pass in favor of an early – and warm – spring.

Demonstrated progress where Kids Count, most especially in the areas of abuse and neglect. We ought to be ashamed we rank as high among Missouri counties as we do. This is simply unacceptable and we must work together to find a solution that will change the behaviors that put our counties too high on this list.

The Lake Ozark Board to instruct Alderman Susan Drummond to stop wasting the city’s valuable time with witch hunts and taking time away from the many important – and critical – real issues the city faces.

More good news on the sales tax front  for more municipalities and counties around the lake. Both Camdenton and Osage Beach posted significant gains in tax revenues for November, hopefully December’s stats will be just as good

LASER progress as the Camdenton High School Laker Afterschool Science Engineering and Robotics team works on its project for a big competition. Great innovations start with small steps and little ideas. Who knows where this project will take us? One thing we do know, our own version or the famous R2D2 robot would be really cool in the newsroom!
