First National Bank, 117 North Hwy 5 in Camdenton, will host the revised AARP Driver Safety Course on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.   The course, formerly presented in two sessions totaling 8 hours, has recently been changed in Missouri and several other states to one 4-hour session.

Formerly called 55 Alive, the course was developed to assist those over age 50 in recognizing and compensating for age-related physical changes, sharpening driving skills, preventing accidents, and keeping older drivers on the road longer and more safely.  Several auto insurance carriers offer premium discounts to graduates of the course.  Drivers should check with their insurance agent to see if such a discount is available.

The class will be limited to 25 people, and pre-registration is necessary.  A cost-recovery fee of $12 for AARP members or $14 for non-members applies.   For information or to register, contact Erin Coleman at (573)346-3311.  AARP members  should have their member number available when they register.
