Local and state law enforcement agencies to talk about the technology grants Skelton has helped bring to central Missouri
Local and state law enforcement will be honoring 4th District Rep. Ike Skelton next week at a Jan. 29 press conference in Osage Beach.
The conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the Osage Beach Police Department and will discuss the technology projects Skelton, D-Lexington, has sponsored throughout the state for several years.
Jeff Merriman, project manager over the many of the technology grants, said Skelton has been instrumental in bringing new mobile data technology to lake-area police cars.
“We really want to show him what we’ve done and express our appreciation,” said Merriman, who is also a police officer in Jasper County and writes many of the proposals for technology grants in central Missouri.
He said the press conference should last for 45 minutes to an hour.
