Christmas parade, lights village
The 8th annual lighted Christmas Parade on Route 5 at 6 p.m. Nov. 28. 573-374-5500. Enchanted Village of Lights at the Laurie Fairgrounds is now open. The 27-acre drive through park has hundreds of exhibits. Free, but donations accepted. 573-374-8776.
Gala of Trees & silent auction
The Gala of Trees will be held at Bootlegger’s Saloon to raise money for Candyland in order to purchase toys for hundreds of lake area children. Trees will be sold during a silent auction from Nov. 25 to 6 p.m. Nov. 29. The trees will be delivered to the highest bidder on Nov. 30. Opening night gala party Nov. 25 from 6 p.m. to close will allow people to see the trees.
Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa at the Lodge of Four Seasons Saturday from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Adults are $13, children ages 6-12, $7 and kids under the age of five are free. 365-3000.
Floatin’ Fools on Osage River
The Ozark Coast Kiwanis hosts the Floatin’ Fools at noon Nov. 29. The charitable fundraiser for Christmas for Kids starts at the river access below Bagnell Dam, participants float down the Osage River in a canoe ending at the campground below Bagnell Dam. Cost is $100 a person. www.ozarkcoastkiwanis.org.
See “The Nutcracker” ballet
“The Nutcracker” ballet will be performed by STEPS Dance Studio at School of the Osage Cummings auditorium Saturday and Sunday. The story includes a prince, a Christmas tree of majestic size, Clara's journey with the Sugar Plum Fairy through the Kingdom of Sweets, and a battle between toy soldiers and mice. 573-348-9175.
