Halloween events list

Here's a list of things to do this Halloween weekend:

 Walk on the Rocks
The fourth annual Children's Halloween Festival makes trick-or-treating safe for little ghost and goblins. Each year, businesses line the parking lot at HyVee and pass out candy and other goodies to participants.  
HyVee and local vendors team up to put together Walk on the Rocks. For a $2 ticket, children go from booth to booth to fill up their bags with treats. It will be held from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 31. Proceeds go to the Dream Factory.

Mid-County and Young Life haunted house?

Join Mid-County Firefighters Association and the Young Life Youth Group at the Lake of the Ozarks Amphitheater for a haunted house evening of freaky, frightening fun and ghoulish good times. ?Oct. 29, 7–10 p.m.; Oct. 30, 7 p.m. to midnight; Oct. 31, 7 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $3 for children 12 and under, $6 for those 13 years of age and older; 5 percent of proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new drug dog for Camden County. 346-2049.??

Ghost stories on the LO Strip?

Ozark ghost stories and other scary tales will be read fireside by local actors Halloween Eve, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. in front of Karon's Korner on the historic Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark. The 1931 Troupe reads scary and hair raising ghost stories, (some true, some maybe not so true) while sharing hot cider and popcorn around an outdoor fire ring. Halloween on the Lake Ozark Strip

?On Saturday, Oct. 31 from 2-4 p.m., Halloween on the Strip will be held under the tents at Luby's, and children of all ages are welcome to participate in costume. Music, games, treats,  prizes and fun for all, and a judged costume contest starting at 4 p.m. with prizes for best costumes.

??Kids’ Safety Halloween Party?

The Lake Area Optimist Club is hosting a Kids’ Safety Halloween Party, Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Osage Beach City Park, from noon until 5 p.m. There will be lots of activities for kids to 12-years-old including hayrides, pumpkin painting, games, kids fingerprinting by the Osage Beach Police Dept., and candy for everyone. There will be a costume contest at 3 p.m.  All activities are free.  There will be food for purchase, with proceeds going to local youth programs. 280-1030.

The Garden Party
New to the Lake area, The Garden Party offers many Halloween festivities on their 5-acre nursery including hayrides in their 100 by 100-foot ay maze, pumpkin picking and petting farm animals.
This nursery is located at 4327 State Road V in Linn Creek and is open Wednesdays through Saturdays 1 to 6 p.m. and will be serving refreshments and food.
Admission is $7 for ages 4 and older with a small pumpkin included.

Haunted Cave
Bridal Cave, located on Lake Road 5-88 near Camdenton, boasts a spooky spin around the famous cavern Oct. 30-31 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Complete with flying ghouls and bats, the event costs $8 per adult and $6 per child with tickets sold at the Bridal Cave gift shop.
The event is sponsored by Lake Ozarks Grotto and Camden County Child Advocacy Council.

Ha Ha Haunt
State park staff at Ha Ha Tonka will take you on a witchy walk along Springs Trail Oct. 30.
They promise a spooky evening that’s free to the public. The haunted hike begins at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Haunted Hotel
This year-round spooksville will be opening their doors for Halloween thrill seekers as well as hosting a round of ghost stories in front of the place on the Bagnell Dam Strip Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m.
While the stories are free, admission into the hotel is $4 for adults, $3 for adults with paying children, $3 for children 12 and under and free to children 5 and younger.

Kid’s Safety Halloween Party
The Lake Area Optimist Club is hosting this free party Oct. 31 at the Osage Beach City park from noon to 5 p.m.
Complete with hayrides, a costume contest, pumpkin painting, games, fingerprinting and candy galore, this party is sure to be fun for all ages. Proceeds benefit local youth programs.

Kids Fun Fest
This free spookfest at Stone Crest Mall in Osage Beach is sure to keep the parents and kids occupied with face painting, games, readings, surprise characters, demonstrations, egg hunt and a costume contest hosted by Howard's ATA Black Belt Academy and the Linn Creek / Osage Bach Lions Club.
The Oct. 31 event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the costume contest from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (registration prior to contest) and the egg hunt starting at 3 p.m. Sign up prior to the egg hunt. Limited to the first 200 kids.

Osage Beach Spooktacular
The annual Halloween Spooktacular Event at Osage Beach Premium Outlets will be held Friday, Oct. 30 from 2-7 p.m. In addition, the Sixth Annual Frightfully Fun Children’s Costume Contest will be held on that same evening for children 12 and under from 5-7 p.m. on the Plaza. Contest winners will receive prizes from many of their favorite stores. Costumes will be judged in the following categories: ages 3 and under; ages 4 to 7; ages 8 to 12. Complimentary 4x6 photos will be offered to families. Rain may bring the contest inside the Community Room located in the same area one level down inside the Information Center.

Old Kinderhook Costume Party
If you’re looking for an adult party, this is the place to be Oct. 31 for drinks, fun, food and more.
Located at 20 Eagle Ridge Road in Camdenton, the party will be at the golf course’s restaurant, The Trophy Room.
Costume judging will begin at 8 p.m., but make sure you come early for dinner and drink specials.
J. Dereberry will be playing from 7 to 10 p.m.

Kids Spooktacular at Capt. Ron’s

?Annual "Kids Spooktacular" on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. along treasure pass next to Captain Ron's. More than a dozen local businesses will be stationed along the walkway to hand out treats to all the ghosts and goblins in a safe environment for the kids to trick or treat this Halloween.

First Baptist Church trunk-or-treat?

First Baptist Church in Camdenton will be hosting a Trunk-or-Treat from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. The church invites you to join members for candy, fun and games in the south parking lot at 186 S. Business Route 5 in Camdenton.??

Kent Lutheran trunk-or-treat

?Kent Memorial Lutheran Church located on Route 5 in Sunrise Beach would like to invite the public to our 3rd annual Trunk-or-Treat Saturday evening, from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Open to the public. Please come decorate the trunk of your car, van or truck, give out candy and enjoy the different costumes the children show off. The Kent Klowns will also be on hand to offer many laughs and smiles. Please join us as we build fun, safe memories with community youth and each other.
