The Mustangs advanced with a 58-53 win in second round play Thursday.



The top-seeded Eldon Mustangs got four clutch free throws in the final 45 seconds of the game to fend off a fourth quarter run by the fifth seed Warsaw Wildcats.

Eldon led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter, and 34-21 at halftime. They looked as though they would cruise to the next round, but a strong fourth quarter by Warsaw change the course of the game.
The Wildcats outpaced Eldon 9-0 over the first four minutes of the final  period to take a one-point lead at 48-47, with 4:22 left in the game.
Eldon retook the lead with a 5-0 run of their own, but with just over a minute remaining, Warsaw’s Myles Edwards tied the game at 53-53.
Eldon’s Ethan Hannah hit both ends of a one-and-one opportunity, with 45 seconds left, and Ryan Kliethermes and Clinton Graves added a free throw apiece in the final 15 seconds to ice the Mustang win.
