Retired VP of American Funds had moved to Texas

Clyde E. Gardner, 71, passed  away at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Clyde resided in Osage Beach, Mo., for the past 18 years. He retired as senior vice president of American Funds, and later moved to Corpus Christi.
He is survived by his wife, Diane,; in-laws, Robert Dunnahoe and his wife Joyce; niece, Danielle Dunnahoe; two daughters, Carrie Gonzelez and Jenny Smith; two brothers, Ray Gardner and his fiancee Pat and Walter Gardner Jr.  and wife Shirley; one sister, Dalene Bateman and husband Francis; and  seven grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held Sept. 6 at Hedges Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Mo. Visitation will be  from 9-11 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m.
