Two Mustang turnovers in the first half was all the help the North Calloway Thunderbirds needed to hand a 40-15 loss Friday.
The Thunderbirds dominated in the first half and took a 27-7 lead into halftime.
The first half brought the Mustangs only 87 yards and one touchdown while North Calloway posted 199.
 The Thunderbirds were the first on the scoreboard, with 3:15 remaining in the first quarter when quarterback, David Heileman scored on a quarterback keeper. The snap was bobbled on the extra point attempt, leaving the score 6-0.
 The Mustangs were quick to answer as James Earlywine ran 65 yards for the touchdown. The extra point was knocked through and the Mustangs had the lead 7-6 with :41 seconds to go in the first quarter.
 Three minutes into the second quarter, Mustang QB John Bisges was stripped of the ball and Jake Blakely of the Thunderbirds scooped it up and ran 67 yards for the score making the score 14-7. 
“These kids are learning from some new coaches and our expectations of them is for them to handle themselves correctly. We’ve got some great kids and I feel confident we can come together and improve,” Eldon head coach Shannon Jolley said.
