Brandon and Becca Witt and son Garrett of Stoutland were among 106 families honored during the Missouri State Fair’s Family Day earlier this month.
The Witts were selected as the Camden County Missouri State Fair Farm Family by the Camden County extension council and local Farm Bureau.
Each year the fair sets aside a day to recognize farm families who are active in their community, involved in agricultural activities and who participate in local outreach and extension educational programs such as 4-H and FFA.
The Witts operate a 230-acre cow/calf operation along with Brandon’s parents.
Jackie Rasmussen, County Program Director for the Camden County MU Extension office, said the Witts are actively involved in agricultural  pursuits, personally and professionally, and Brandon recently served as an officer and board member on the Extension Council.
The 50th annual event was sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Department of Agriculture, Missouri State Fair, University of Missouri Extension and the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
