The WestSide Soccer League [WSL] will receive support in both funds and equipment from Clark Tire and the Uniroyal Soccer Program.
In its ninth year, the Uniroyal program has been partnering tire dealers with youth soccer leagues in an effort to strengthen communities. In that time nearly $11 milllion, including 818,000 soccer balls, have been donated to youth sports programming across the country.
“This is the ideal way for us to give something back to the community, which has already given so much to us,” said Joel Clark. “We can’t wait for the children that play in the WSL to come in and get their free soccer balls. And, we really enjoy the fact that the kids get so much out of it.”
According to Don Dutton, a WSL board member, 120 area youth received a free soccer ball last year. They also received coupons for parents to use in the purchase of tires, adding that additional revenue from those sales benefits soccer, as well.
Late registration continues for WSL leagues ages 4-13. For more information or to register a child call Dutton at 374-1235 or Abraham Enriquez at 374-6472.
